We answered

TfL Ref: FOI-1189-2021

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 25 September 2020, asking about the Emergency Active Travel Fund (EATF) Tranche 1 allocation.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

A total of £5m of the EATF – 1 has come to London from the Department for Transport (DfT), of which £2m was allocated to TfL and 3m went directly to London boroughs. Please see the full breakdown in the table below.

TfL also received £55m from the DfT as part of the emergency funding settle for TfL in May 2020 for schemes on borough and TfL roads.  The Streetspace programme comprises of temporary schemes which are being delivered at significant pace by TfL and London’s boroughs. However, this is separate from EATF – 1 funding.

Note: Please do not include 20mph limit schemes that did not also involve cycle-specific measures
