Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to know the number of electronic devices lost or stolen by your organisation year on year over the past three years, from August to July, as well as the average cost per device.
Example:
August 2022 - July 2021
10,000 Laptops @ approximately £735 per device
820 Tablets @ approximately £410 per device
4,300 Smartphones @ approximately £220 per device
August 2021 - July 2020
8,700 Laptops @ approximately £715 per device
800 Tablets @ approximately £400 per device
3,500 Smartphones @ approximately £205 per device
August 2020 - July 2019
3,000 Laptops @ approximately £685 per device

No laptops were reported as lost or stolen in the period requested.
All devices that are reported lost/stolen are locked so that they cannot be used. If a device is returned then it is unlocked and returned back into circulation or passed to our reseller, which sells old IT equipment on our behalf. The number of devices lost account for approximately 1.8% of the total devices currently in use.
