You asked
The organization Transport for London referred me to you because I have a question about the use of the Emirates Airline London. I am currently doing research tot he touristic potential of a possible new cable car in the Netherlands. Therefore, we do a benchmark with other cable cars in large cities. The Emirates Airline is included in this benchmark. Do you know which percentage of the visitors of the Emierates Airline use it as an attraction and not as public transport? And how many of them are really tourists (do not live in London)?
If you could answer these questions, you would really help me with the research.
We answered
Our ref: FOI-1186-2021/GH
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 28 September 2020 asking for information about the Emirates Airline.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy.
Unfortunately we do not hold the information you require - we do not have a breakdown of how many passengers are tourists or using the Airline as an attraction and those who are using it as public transport.
If you are considering submitting a further FOI request please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by the current situation.
If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
