Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 23 July 2019 asking for information about Bus Routes in the London Borough of Sutton.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.

We do not hold details of the number of bus journeys by year, but these can be calculated by viewing the number of scheduled trips each week for each route by analysing the bus schedules available here: https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/bus-schedules

The following shows the total passenger journey numbers of all routes that operate in Sutton. We do not hold this data prior to 2017/18:

2018/19	62,616,699

These are the total of all passengers using a route that operates in the London Borough of Sutton. For example, if a person boards a bus in Merton which then travels into Sutton that journey will be counted – regardless of whether the person has left the bus before entering Sutton.

Please find attached a breakdown of the passenger journeys by bus route and period. (We use four-week periods for reporting purposes with the first starting in April and the final period ending in March).
