Our Ref: FOI-1180-2223
Thank you for your request that was passed to us by the London Assembly asking for information about the introduction of the 60+ Oyster card annual fee.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information requested.
As previously advised, the decision was made to introduce the 60+ Oyster card annual fee in May 2019. The annual eligibility charge became active on 1 August 2019 and the terms and conditions were updated accordingly. The terms and conditions were updated again in August 2020 to reflect the introduction of the morning peak travel restriction.
We do not hold minutes of the committee or sub-committee meeting when the decision to introduce the £10 annual fee. Please find attached the briefing note that went to the Mayor’s Office regarding the fee and the Equality Impact Assessment that was carried out when the fee was proposed.
