Request ID: FOI-1158-2122 Date published: 24 September 2021
You asked
I'd like image files (preferably .jpg or .png) of all 270 station roundels on the London Underground Network. I'd just like one roundel per station. I only need roundels for stations on the Bakerloo, Central, Circle, District, Hammersmith & City, Jubilee, Metropolitan, Northern, Piccadilly, Victoria and Waterloo & City lines. Thank you in advance for looking at my request and I understand fully if it cannot be completed.

TfL Ref: FOI-1158-2122
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 1st September 2021 asking for images of London Underground roundels. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“I'd like image files (preferably .jpg or .png) of all 270 station roundels on the London Underground Network. I'd just like one roundel per station. I only need roundels for stations on the Bakerloo, Central, Circle, District, Hammersmith & City, Jubilee, Metropolitan, Northern, Piccadilly, Victoria and Waterloo & City lines. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. However, I am afraid that there is no quick or efficient way of sourcing it all, and your request is therefore being refused under section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act. Under section 12 a public authority such as TfL is not required to provide information if it would cost more than £450 to determine if that information is held, and to then locate, retrieve or extract it from elsewhere. This is calculated at a rate of £25 per hour, equivalent to 18 hours work. We estimate that to source one such image and extract it from its current format and convert it into a format that can be shared by email would take at least 5 minutes, meaning that for all 270 stations this would take a minimum of 22.5 hours. However, that said, note that you may well be able to find images of most, if not all, roundels online by typing the name of the station and “roundel” into a search engine.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely,
