Thank you for your request received on 25 July 2018 asking for records of meetings and/or emails between TfL and the electric scooter company LimeBike.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold some of the information you require.

Two members of our Innovations Directorate had a teleconference with Caen Contee from LimeBike on 24 May 2018 to discuss LimeBike’s London plans, both in relation to dockless cycle hire and dockless scooters. Please see the attached correspondence between us and LimeBike. We do not hold any minutes from the teleconference.

In addition, and in accordance with the guidance pursuant to section 45 of the FOI Act, we wrote to LimeBike on 6 July to notify them of another FOI request asking for details of meetings and correspondence with them.

Please note that in accordance with TfL’s obligations under Data Protection legislation some personal data has been removed, as required by section 40(2) of the FOI Act. This is because disclosure of this personal data would be a breach of the legislation, specifically the first principle which requires all processing of personal data to be fair and lawful. It would not be fair to disclose this personal information when the individuals have no expectation it would be disclosed and TfL has not satisfied one of the conditions which would make the processing ‘fair’.
