Date published: 07 August 2019

You asked

F/on from FOI-0590 Thanks for sending this. However, it doesn’t give the full information. Shouldn’t there be a proper works order going into more detail about the defect? Plus, I’d still like to know when these were defects were actually identified and reported. Are Thames Water responsible for this defect rather than TFL? In addition, Please can you send me: • A copy of your current road maintenance policy relating to Roehampton Lane. Please send me the full policy, but this should include details of the intended frequency of road safety inspections, how these inspections should be conducted and the maximum time between identification of a defect and repairs being carried out. • Details of how carriageway safety inspections are undertaken, including whether walked or driven, the speed of the inspection vehicle and the number of persons in the vehicle.

We answered

Thank you for your request asking for further information about Roehampton Lane.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.

Please find attached our maintenance policy but we do not have a policy relating specifically to Roehampton Lane.

We can advise you that we were informed by Thames Water on the 20/11/2019 at 10.17 that they had an immediate emergency for a main clamp in the carriageway opposite 166 Roehampton Lane, with multi way signals.  Their intention was to complete the permanent reinstatement in the same phase, and the works were completed by 26/11/2018.

This is the only information that we hold regarding these works – if you require further information we suggest you contact Thames Water, as it was their asset that failed and they carried out the work.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
