In our 2018 Private Hire Policy Statement, we stated that private hire services operating in London should be accessible to all passengers and a minimum percentage of wheelchair accessible vehicles should be available to carry out private hire bookings. Following receipt of the letter from Nurat Ghani, we informed the Department for Transport that we propose to consult on improving the provision of wheelchair accessible private hire vehicles in due course. Our policy statement is available online: http://content.tfl.gov.uk/private-hire-policy-statement.pdf.

All of London's circa 19,200 taxis are wheelchair accessible and provide a wide range of other accessibility features to support passengers with disabilities. There are also approximately 570 private hire vehicles that are wheelchair accessible within the private hire fleet.

In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with a copy of the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere.
