We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-1127-1819
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 13 July 2018 asking for information about lane closures.
Your request has been processed in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold some of the information you requested. You asked:
Our policyholder was stationery at traffic lights on Marylebone Road at the junction of Baker Street going west onto Marylebone Road. Our policyholder has alleged he was sitting stationery in the inside lane of 3 lanes as the other 2 lanes were closed due to roadworks. The third party insurer are disputing there was any roadworks being carried out at the this time. Can you please confirm there was roadworks on this part of the road that caused 2 lanes to be closed on 17 January.
As per our records, the major ongoing Baker Street two-way project works were taking place in this area in January. The gas works were carried out in collaboration with the Baker Street two-way project works. Approval was for one lane closure but it could be increased to two lanes from 8pm to midnight in case of new trenching for signals. At present we cannot confirm whether the 17 January two lanes were closed but we are certain that before 8pm only one lane was closed at both directions.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely,
Melissa Nichols
