Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 16 July 2019 asking for information about staff structures and salary ranges.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

  1. A copy of the staff grading structure for grades MMH0 and above.

     

    Typically a MMH0 grade employee would report into a Band 4 employee. A Band 4 employee would report into a Band 5 employee. A Band 5 employee would report into a Director. A Director would report into a Managing Director. The Managing Director would report into the Commissioner.

     

    A description of the classes of roles that fall into each of the grades

    MMH0 and grades at similar level are Middle Management / Management positions. Band 4 roles are Senior Management. Band 5 roles are also Senior Managers (Head of …’). 

     

    A copy of the current salary range / pay bands for each of the grades.

  4. An explanation of any subgrades within each of the main grades.

     

    There are no subgrades within MMH0, however, the difference between MMH0. MMH1 and MMH2 are:

     

    • MMH0: Standard Hours Normal office hours. Monday to Friday most of the time.

       

    • MMH1: They regularly need to work early or late and perhaps on occasions at weekends to work with their employees and or contractors.

       

    • MMH2: Manages night activity and therefore have to spend a significant amount of the year (25%) on night shifts.

       

       

  5. Confirmation of whether or not there in any incremental pay increase within each or any of the grades and how any such incremental increase are applied.

There is no incremental pay increases for the MMH0 grades, those at a similar level or above.
