Thank you for your request received on 26 August 2021 asking for information about the use of face coverings on our network.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require. You asked:
How many enforcement actions have been taken against those not wearing a face covering? Please could you break this number out by those stopped from boarding services until they have put on a face covering, those prevented from boarding, those ejected from services and Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) issued.

The value of the fixed penalty notices were £100 from July 2020 – 22nd September 2020. If paid within 14 days the fine was £50, after 14 days the fine was £100. After this time the value of the fine was £200. If paid within 14 days the fine was £100, after 14 days the fine was £200.
