You asked
I am writing to request information about the legal costs to Transport for London of the
London Bridge terror attack inquest, which ends today.
I would like TFL to provide any information held relating to the expenditure on legal fees in respect of the Inquests arising from the deaths in the London Bridge attack on June 3 2017.
For the avoidance of doubt this request includes information held in respect of:
• The total amount spent on counsel fees during the inquest
• The total amount spent on solicitors fees during the inquest

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 15 July 2019 asking for the legal costs to Transport for London of the London Bridge terror attack inquest.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold some of the information you require.
TfL instructed Counsel to advise and represent it at the inquests of those who died on London Bridge from the terror attack. Counsel’s costs were £34,325 exclusive of VAT.
TfL did not instruct external solicitors to provide advice during the inquests. TfL’s internal legal team provided legal advice and support to TfL for the inquests. We do not record costs incurred by TfL’s internal legal team for these purposes.
If this is not the information you are looking for please feel free to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
