Our Ref: FOI-1069-2324
Thank you for your request received on 8 July 2023 asking for information about the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) expansion cameras. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked: • Will all the cameras planned for the ULEZ expansion be operational by August 29, 2023? • If not what percentage of the new cameras specifically for the expansion, as opposed to the whole London wide network, will be operational by August 29, 2023? • On what date is it anticipated that 95% and 100% of these new cameras will be operational? We expect a total of 2750 additional ANPR cameras will be needed to operate the expanded London-wide scheme. We expect the majority of the cameras will be installed for the go live date and any outstanding cameras will be installed shortly after operations begin. We do not hold information on when we expect all cameras to have been installed as, in part, this is dependent on the number of incidents of vandalism and theft. • How many cameras have been installed to date to operate the proposed new boundary of the zone at the edge of Greater London? To date, circa 1800 cameras have been installed - 270 of these are on the boundary. If this is not the information you are looking for please do not hesitate to contact me. Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
