Thank you for your request received by us on 20 August 2021 asking for information about the closure of Tower Bridge on Sunday 6 June 2021.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked for:

Dear TFL, I'm looking for information on the closure of Tower Bridge and the diversion route on Sunday 6th June at 01:00 AM.
Would you be able to confirm that the bridge was closed on the above date and time and the exact route of the diversion?
We can advise that the closure of Tower Bridge was due to planned maintenance works, which commenced on 1 June 2021 between the hours of 22:00 to 05:00 for four nights..
Please see the attached map displaying the diversion route. Additional signs were also in place at the time advising motorists of the need to follow the diversion to avoid the Congestion Charge.
In accordance with our obligations under Data Protection legislation some information has been withheld, as required by section 40(2) of the FOI Act. This is because disclosure of this personal data would be a breach of the legislation, specifically the first principle of Article 5 of the General Data Protection Regulation which requires all processing of personal data to be fair and lawful. It would not be fair to disclose this personal information when the individuals have no expectation it would be disclosed and TfL has not satisfied one of the conditions which would make the processing ‘fair’. This exemption to the right of access to information is an absolute exemption and not subject to an assessment of whether the public interest favours use of the exemption.
