TfL Ref: FOI-1066-2223 Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 1st August 2022 asking for information about station closures. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. Specifically you asked: “How many station closures occurred in January 2022 due to staff shortages? How many station closures occurred in February 2022 due to staff shortages? How many station closures occurred in March 2022 due to staff shortages? How many station closures occurred in April 2022 due to staff shortages? How many station closures occurred in May 2022 due to staff shortages? How many station closures occurred in June 2022 due to staff shortages? On 11th August this was clarified as relating to the London Underground, London Overground, the Elizabeth Line, and the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). I can confirm that we hold the information you require, which is provided in the tables below. We aim to minimise closures as far as possible and strive to always exhaust all avenues before making the decision to close a station. However, on occasion it is unavoidable, and we may not have the option of having certain stations remaining open without staff due to safety regulations.
