You asked

40 MPH speed limit on the A20 Eastbound West of Sandy Lane to East of Cookham road, I would like to obtain the following information: - Please confirm the date that the restriction came into force (i.e. the date at which speeds to checked and, if over 40MPH, a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP was sent out). - Please provide confirmation of whether the temporary 40mph restriction remains in force. - Please provide a list of road signage that was in place on 6th April 2024, on that section of road. - Please confirm what changes have been made to road signage in that section of road, from 1st September 2023 to date.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 1 July 2024 asking for information about the speed limit on the A20.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold the information you require.
 
Specifically you asked:

- Please confirm the date that the restriction came into force (i.e. the date at which speeds to checked and, if over 40MPH, a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP was sent out).

Yes, this restriction remains in force.
 
- Please provide a list of road signage that was in place on 6th April 2024, on that section of road.

The information you have requested is provided in response to question 3 of the information request linked above.

- Please confirm what changes have been made to road signage in that section of road, from 1st September 2023 to date.

The speed limit signage was installed on 26 September 2023, with 3 additional large electric variable messaging signs (VMS) and additional ‘New Speed Limit in force signs’ installed in October. Please note that the additional VMS and temporary New Speed Limit in force signs were removed in November 2023.
