You asked

1.) How much did it cost in total to rename Southgate Station for "Gareth Southgate" for 48 hours? 2.) Please provide me a detailed breakdown of the total cost of the name change, such as, cost of planning, cost of design, cost of producing, delivering, installing and removing the sign, cost of office hours spent on this activity, etc. 3.) Please provide me with the business case or relevant documents justifying the need for spending funds on this temporary name change. 4) Please provide me with the name or at least job title and payband of the person who authorised spending funds on this temporary name change. 5.) Please provide me with the cost centre ID of the department who paid for this signage and associated works. Thank you for your request received on 16 July 2018 asking for information about renaming Southgate Station.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold some of the information you require. You asked:

1) How much did it cost in total to rename Southgate Station for "Gareth Southgate" for 48 hours?

The total cost for renaming Southgate station was £10,465.91 plus VAT. Visa, the sponsor, paid £9,865.91 plus VAT of these costs with the exception of £600 which was paid for by TfL for photography and videos to support future commercial promotions. In addition to this, Visa also paid an £80,000 partnership fee which covered the use of TfL assets and Intellectual Property.

2) Please provide me a detailed breakdown of the total cost of the name change, such as, cost of planning, cost of design, cost of producing, delivering, installing and removing the sign, cost of office hours spent on this activity, etc.

The total costs of £10,465.91 plus VAT reflect, printing, implementation and removal. In addition, three employees worked approximately three full days on this project. We do not hold a separate breakdown for the cost of office hours spent on this activity as this work was undertaken as part of their normal duties.

3) Please provide me with the business case or relevant documents justifying the need for spending funds on this temporary name change.

With the exception of £600, all costs associated to this change were paid for by the sponsor. As stated above, in addition, the sponsor paid TfL £80,000 to use our assets and Intellectual Property.

4) Please provide me with the name or at least job title and payband of the person who authorised spending funds on this temporary name change.

The Head of Commercial Media approved this, Payband 5.

5) Please provide me with the cost centre ID of the department who paid for this signage and associated works.

The cost centre ID for this activity will be 10880. As stated, all costs (except the £600 mentioned above) will be recharged to VISA.
