You asked
I would like a copy of the risk assessment that was carried out prior to the implementation of card readers being placed in the rear of Taxis. The area I’m looking at is the possible abuse of Taxi drivers, Physical Attacks and possible false allegations being made against Taxi Drivers if they were to enter the rear of the Taxi to provide assistants when the passenger/s is unable to operate the card reader located in the rear of a Taxi.

Thank you for your email but it would appear that you have not sent me the Risk Assessment that I have requested.

I can advise that we do not hold the information you requested and are not aware of any instances where a taxi driver has been assaulted having entered the passenger compartment to provide assistance. Our advice to drivers is clear and available online via the following link to our website at: www.tfl.gov.uk/cards-in-taxis.
I hope this helps clarify matters.
