We answered

TfL Ref: FOI-1029-2324

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 3rd July 2023 asking for information about use of the Police Oyster card.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Specifically you asked:

Could you please help me to clarify the use of police Oyster card. Can it be used on all TFL transports including Thameslink and southeastern trains that run between zone 1-6?”.

I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

The Police Oyster card can be used for free on TfL services only - that is: buses, the London Underground, trams, the Docklands Light Railway, London Overground and the Elizabeth Line. Note that neither Thameslink nor Southeastern trains are operated by TfL, and the Police Oyster card cannot be used on these services. You may wish to contact those companies directly to see what provisions, if any, they make for free or discounted police travel.

If this is not the information you are looking for please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely,
