I can confirm that we do hold the information you require. You asked:

I wish to know a few questions about the 1996 stock with its issues with metal fatigue (I want the information for 2024)

How many units have been affected?

All units are affected by this issue.

Fleet categorise these defects by location, each car has 4 locations. So far 77 locations have had repairs carried out and 45 locations are running with minor cracks. All checks are based on the severity of the defect and are in line with our established engineering processes, ensuring that the trains operate safely at all times.

How many services have been cancelled?

None.

How many Minor Delays / Severe Delays have been caused by this?

None.

What is the current Availability of the 1996 t/s (and what are the causes)?

On Wednesday 03 July 2024, 49 trains were offered for service against a requirement of 52.

There are a number of issues to overhaul caused by external suppliers, lack of available materials from external suppliers and obsolete components which impact availability.

What steps are TfL taking to tackle this issue?

We have completed overhaul phase 1 on 39 of our 63 trains. Our procurement team are working with existing and potential new supplies to have more components/materials made available.

How many 96’s on average are not available?

10.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely,
