What contracts regarding ULEZ cannot be cancelled upon election of a new mayor who may cancel ULEZ altogether.

Thank you for your request received on 5 July 2023 asking for information about contracts related to the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ).
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
If any future Mayor decided to not go ahead with the ULEZ then any contracts for the main delivery of the ULEZ expansion would remain in place as they are either term or framework contracts. For example, Yunex will still have the contract maintain the cameras for the existing road user charging schemes such as the Congestion Charge, Low Emission Zone, and current ULEZ. The only items that would be cancelled are the call-off contracts (i.e. goods or services that have been ordered as needed) that relate to project work for the expansion.
