Request ID: FOI-1018-2223 Date published: 16 August 2022
You asked
Hello,
A number of local residents have noticed a build up in traffic recently along Stanmore Broadway, and suspect that the phasing of the traffic lights at the junction with Church Road (by NatWest) and at the junction with London Road (by Lidl) may have been changed, or a fault may have left them unaligned.
Please could you advise if there has been any such changing of the phasing of the lights here, or any faults, or if there might be another outstanding reason for the increased delays?

There have been no signal timing changes applied to this set of signals since 2016. However, there is a communications services fault (live since 29/06/22) affecting nearby signalled sites J29/010, J29/106 and P29/108 (see map below). Timing co-ordination between all of these signals is required for smooth traffic progression and relies on this communications service. The fault is currently being investigated by our communications provider and we are aiming to resolve this issue promptly. Meanwhile we do apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers.
