Angel station availability

You asked

Hello. Can you please advise of the frequency, length, and reason for closures at Angel tube station between 30 May and 24 July 2022. I request that the response include the 1) date when a closure has occurred, 2) the times between which the station was closed and reopened (12pm-4pm), and the stated reason for the closure (e.g. staff shortages / industrial action). As part your response, can you please advise whether or not TFL is currently investigating the chronic availability issues of Angel station with a view to remedy the situation.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 24 July 2022 asking for information about Angel station availability.

Please note: During times when the Northern Line is suspended individual station closures are not recorded. A station may be closed at multiple times during the day. Station closures at Angel have been provided between 30 May 2022 & 24 July 2022.

TfL is aware of the staff availability issues and continues to monitor the root cause.

Action to remedy is as follows:
  • Filling vacancies – we are expecting to 4 new Customer Service Assistants in August and a new Customer Service Manager in October
  • Continued attendance management with a focus on supporting our people back to into the workplace

We will also use short term measures in the form of resources from other parts of the business through overtime and the use of the Ambassador Team.
