Penalty Charge Notices for speeding on A10 north of White Hart Lane

Request ID: FOI-0987-2223
Date published: 29 July 2022

You asked

I tried to submit an FOI request via the TfL website but it would not send due to some technical issues. My request is quite simple. Can you please confirm how many PCNs have been issued for exceeding 30mph on the A10 Gt Cambridge Road between White Hart Lane and the Gt Cambridge Roundabout on both the northbound and southbound carriageways. There are two cameras on the north carriageway and one camera going south. Since the speed limit was changed from 40mph in March 2022 there has been a lot of confusion surrounding the scheme due to either poor signage of a lack of signs particularly at the White Hart Lane where the speed limit sign was replaced with a red information sign which I don’t believe to be legally enforceable. Also compared to the original plans the scheme does not appear to have been completed either.

TfL Ref: FOI-0987-2223

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 22nd July 2022 asking for information about Penalty Charge Notices for speeding on the A10.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Specifically you asked:

Can you please confirm how many PCNs have been issued for exceeding 30mph on the A10 Gt Cambridge Road between White Hart Lane and the Gt Cambridge Roundabout on both the northbound and southbound carriageways.”

I am afraid that TfL does not hold the requested information. PCNs for speeding offences are issued by the police rather than TfL. I would therefore suggest that you redirect your request to the Metropolitan Police, which can be done via its website here:

https://www.met.police.uk/rqo/request/ri/request-information/rip/request-information-police/

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely,
