TfL began installing PV in 2016 to reduce residential noise. PV has been effective in reducing ground-borne noise in some residential properties. There is 2,190 metres of track on the Northern line that has had PV installed. The total cost is estimated to be at £759,200.
An example of a residential noise assessment of installing PV on the Northern line is provided in the annex.
