Penalty charge notices for West Hill SW18/fire station
Request ID: FOI-0949-1819
Date published: 12 July 2018
You asked
I have recently received a penalty notice for having one quarter of my car on the yellow box at the above location - in ‘contravention of code 31'.
I have lost the will to argue in these sort of cases so will be paying the fine. However, I suspect I am one of many such ‘offenders’ and you have the wherewithal to pay an operator to ‘observe real time pictures from a camera’.
In the interests of transparency I would like to know the revenue generated per annum from the camera at this location.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 6 July 2018 asking for information about Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) for West Hill SW18/fire station
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.
CCTV enforcement cameras are located at strategic points across our road network to ensure compliance with the red route restrictions. We do not record which camera is used to issue a PCN because the camera identification details are embedded within the recorded CCTV images.
The below table shows the amount of PCNs we issued to vehicles observed stopped in the box junction on West Hill, SW18 outside the fire station per year and the payments received against the fines. However, we cannot confirm how many of the PCNs were issued using this camera.
