TfL Ref: 0945-2324
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 27 June 2023 asking for information about Hackney Wick station.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. Your questions and our responses are below: (Hackney Wick station):
the cause/s of the delay in implementing the use of the secured gateline, which was in situ but not operational for a number of years.
The gateline is now fully operational. We experienced a number of technical issues with commissioning the gateline, related to latent build/design issues associated with the station works but these have now been resolved.
the reason why the second entryway shutter, facing the gateline, is now kept shut at all times
Repeated motor failures have caused this shutter to be taken out of use. It is uneconomical to undertake the necessary repairs. A longer-term design solution is being explored.
what plans, if any, exist to connect the new developments north of the station to the front
