We answered

Our Ref:         FOI-0938-1920

Thank you for your request received on 1 July 2019 clarifying your request for information about the closure of the Barnet Grove bus stop.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold some of the information you require. You asked for:

• The number of complaints/enquiries we have received from members of the public regarding the closure of the bus stop at Barnet Grove

The bus stop was closed from 4 December 2018. We have done a search from this date up to 1 July 2019 for customer complaints/enquiries containing the words ‘Barnet Grove’ and ‘bus stop’. We have received 53 contacts with these keywords.

• Internal correspondence within TfL concerning the closure of the bus stop
• Correspondence between TfL and:
o Relevant bus companies
o Developer of the site
o Local authority/highway authority
• Copies of any correspondence or notes that the Service Delivery Manager has made concerning his meeting with the developers of the site in question, next to the Barnet Grove stop

We often do not rely on correspondence to deal with day-to-day operational matters. Most of our communication with the bus companies, developer, and the local authority was done face to face or over the phone. Our Service Delivery Manager also met with the developers on site to discuss a temporary bus stop location.

• Please could you supply copies of TfL's guidance, policies or other similar documents relating to the decision to take bus-stops out of service
• Please could you supply the same concerning the provision, or not, of temporary stops

We do not have specific guidance on taking bus stops out of service as decisions are taken on a case-by-case basis once we had assessed the impacts on safety as well as our customers. The attached document, however, explains our wider approach to siting of permanent and temporary stops.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please feel free to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
