Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 30 June 2019 asking for information about the Yellow box junction at Seven Sisters Road / Blackstock Road.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked: Please could you provide the Department for Transport approved traffic management order and diagram for the yellow box junction at Seven Sisters Road/Blackstock Road. Please also include any maintenance records regarding the yellow box junction between 1st July 2018 and 1st July 2019.
Yellow Box Junctions (YBJs) restrictions are standard and are covered under the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 (TSRGD 2016). They do not require a traffic order for their enforcement. The TSRGD 2016 also allow for variations in the overall shape and size of yellow box junctions. We are satisfied that the box you are asking about is compliant with the TSARGD regulations and that it does not require special authorisation from the DfT.
The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 is available using the following link: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/523916/DfT-circular-01-2016.pdf
We do not have designated maintenance records for yellow box junctions as they are all repainted on an annual basis but the date of the programme is dependant on the weather.
