Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 6th August 2021 asking for information about hydrogen-fuelled buses.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“I would like to know which bus route(s) in London (both in Greater London and the City of London) operate with buses which are ‘powered by hydrogen’, that is to say the fuel for buses on which route(s) come from hydrogen fuel cells on board these buses?”
I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
The new hydrogen fuel cell buses are operating on route 7 between East Acton and Oxford Circus. The following GLA Press Notice from 23rd June 2021 provides more information about the introduction of these buses which may be of interest:
