Thank you for your email received on 17 July requesting information about Charing Cross Jubilee Line usage.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our Information Access Policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:
Since the official closure on 19 November 1999, how many passenger trains have called at Charing Cross Jubilee Line Station, where passengers were able to alight and/or board. This does not include special events (for example filming), or heritage events (such as final day of train class x). This is a request regarding scheduled/timetabled services open to the general public, as part of a Transport for London/London Underground Limited passenger service.
Please list the following:
The total number of services
The reason for, date, number of, and time span services per occurrence (e.g. between time a and b, on date y, there were x services, because of reason(s) z) Where each of the services terminated (including occasions where Charing Cross was the terminus) The total number of passengers who have used (or are estimated to have used) Charing Cross Station Jubilee Line Station, since the official closure on 19 November 1999.
The current Working Timetable lists no stopping at Charing Cross. However, the Jubilee line platforms are still used by Jubilee line trains as sidings to reverse trains from south to north – southbound trains terminate and detrain at Green Park Station and are worked empty to one of the Charing Cross platforms.
The Jubilee part of the station has remained closed to the general public, except for filming and events. Therefore, no passengers have used (or are estimated to have used) Charing Cross Station Jubilee Line Station, since the official closure on 19 November 1999.
