Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 27^th June 2019 asking for information about the amount of bus lanes in London.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. 

You asked:

“Please could you tell me how many miles of bus lanes we had in London

A) Start of year 2016;

B) How many we now have in June 2019”.

I can confirm that we hold the information you require (although note that the figures below represent our best estimate rather than unequivocal measurements).

At the beginning of January 2016 there were 178.7 miles of bus lanes on all carriageways within London. Currently the figure is 180.3miles.
