Please can i have a copy of the rules that govern TFL bus inspections for passengers getting on a bus, on a current journey on a bus and when a passenger has vacated a bus
CLARIFICATION
I asking in regards to bus ticket inspections, for example if a passenger steps off a bus after their journey, what is the rules for a bus ticket inspector asking to check their oyster/payment card even though they are on a public street.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You have asked specifically:
if a passenger steps off a bus after their journey, what is the rules for a bus ticket inspector asking to check their oyster/payment card even though they are on a public street.
The power to ask for a ticket for inspection exists at any time during the passenger’s journey and therefore requests to see a ticket should be made whilst the passenger is still on board the bus and before they alight. As long as the request has been initiated before the passenger exits the bus, it is a legitimate and ongoing request.
