We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-0871-1819
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 30 June 2018 asking for information about diversity.
Your request has been processed in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. You asked:
Can you please confirm TfL's current diversity targets (e.g. in specific percentage terms) for each protected group?
We measure our workforce diversity with an index measure, which compares our workforce to the population of London for seven of the nine protected characteristics set out in the Equality Act of 2010. We use this index measure for both our overall workforce, and our senior workforce.
Our targets are based on an assumption that all new recruitment will be representative of the population of Economically Active Londoners. We are currently revising these targets to take into account the latest demographic data about London and so do not hold the ‘specific percentage terms’ you have requested at present.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
