I'd like to request LU passenger numbers by station - latest year (at least 2022) vs. 2019.
I'm trying to compare the passenger traffic in certain areas where we have restaurants pre and post covid.
I understand 2022 should have been published last year but I can't find anything beyond 2021.

Thank you for your request which we received on 20 June 2023, asking for passenger numbers on the London Underground.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. I can confirm TfL does hold the information you require. You specifically asked:
I'd like to request LU passenger numbers by station - latest year (at least 2022) vs. 2019.
I'm trying to compare the passenger traffic in certain areas where we have restaurants pre and post covid.
The data we hold on passenger numbers by station up until 2021 is available on the TfL website via the following link: http://crowding.data.tfl.gov.uk/is
2022 data is due to be published in due course.
Given we intend to publish the required data, the information is exempt from disclosure at the current time under section 22 of the Freedom of Information Act, the exemption that relates to “information intended for future publication”. Section 22 is a ‘qualified’ exemption, meaning we have to assess whether the public interest in applying the exemption outweighs the public interest in immediate disclosure. In this instance we consider that the public interest favours the publication of this information in context and according to the pre-determined schedule, rather than in response to your request.
In the meantime, you may be interested in the London Underground entry and exit data that can be found at Network Demand data, going back to the beginning of 2020 and which can be filtered by specific timeframes and stations. Click the tab “Understood - take me to the reports”; then select the “Demand by Station Type” tab near the bottom right of the page . You can then select “Tube Entry” or “Tube Exit” near the top of the page; set a specific date or date range using the tabs to the top left of the page; and select a specific station from the list on the right of the page.
