Our Ref:          FOI-0864-1819 / FOI-0877-1819

Thank you for your requests received on 24 and 31 July 2018 asking for information pay rates.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require.

Please find some of the requested information below:

 FTE Annual Basic Pay
Position Name Min Average Max
Asset Operation Officers  £30,000-£34,999 £39,875 £45,000-£49,999
Lead Discipline Engineer  £40,000-£44,999 £70,417 £95,000-£99,999
Note: excludes anybody on secondment or anybody who resides in a non-evaluated job.

Please note that all discipline engineers (despite the asset) sit under a singular job description with a grade progression structure. Therefore, the Full Time Employee (FTE) basic annual salary figures for Lead Discipline Engineer are based on people with a position title that contains Senior Discipline Engineer.

In accordance with TfL’s obligations under Data Protection legislation, information on Lead Discipline Engineer Lifts and Escalators and Revenue & Licensing Officers has not been provided as there are five or fewer people in these posts. This information has been withheld as required by section 40(2) of the FOI Act as personal data of these persons could be identified. Disclosure of this personal data would be a breach of the legislation, specifically the first principle which requires all processing of personal data to be fair and lawful. It would not be fair to disclose this personal information when the individuals have no expectation it would be disclosed and TfL has not satisfied one of the conditions which would make the processing ‘fair’. This exemption to the right of access to information is an absolute exemption and not subject to an assessment of whether the public interest favours use of the exemption.

If this is not the information you are looking for please feel free to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
