ULEZ Air Quality Impact Report Correspondence

Request ID: FOI-0836-2425
Date published: 18 June 2024

You asked

On 8th March 2024, the Evening Standard reported the Mayor’s regrets that data on the air quality impacts of the expanded ULEZ would not be made available until after the London mayoral election, on 2nd May. The Mayor attributed this to “strict pre-election rules”. Over five weeks later, the report has not been published. I find the Mayor’s explanation difficult to comprehend as The Code Of Recommended Practice On Local Authority Publicity allows for the release of objective i.e. unpoliticised material that does not seek to influence voters. Please send me all correspondence from the office of the Mayor to and from (1) other units within the GLA Group (2) external parties between 31st October 2023 and 8th March 2024 discussing why the release of an ULEZ monitoring report covering outer London should be delayed. Ditto any correspondence between the above parties requesting or recommending a release date for an ULEZ monitoring report covering outer London, also including correspondence from 8th March to the present. I wish to clarify that I am not after correspondence specifically relating to the First Month monitoring report covering outer London published on 31st October 2023 or any translations into languages other than English.
