You asked

Can you please supply the following information regarding the closure and re-opening of Tower Bridge. Can you supply the exact date and time to which Tower bridge reopen after all repairs in December 2016 Can you supply the exact date and time to which all signage of the tower bridge diversion north bound over London bridge was removed in December.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 6 July 2017 asking for information about the Tower Bridge repair works and diversion.

 

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.  

 

Tower Bridge was closed on Saturday 1 October 2016 to all traffic and did not re-open until Thursday 22 December 2016 when essential maintenance works and related roadworks were completed. The re-opening was completed between 12:30 – 12:45pm on 22 December 2016.

 

Our contractors have confirmed that removal of the northbound diversionary signage on London Bridge was completed before 06:00 on Friday 23 December 2016.
