(a) Policies and formal evaluation criteria (e.g. templates used to evaluate a cost-to-benefit ratio) on the location and relocation of bus stops

With respect to this part of my request, I do not require information relating to other attributes of this stop, e.g. how frequently it is served. I am only looking for information TfL hold relating to why it located where it is, and any related information such as any consideration of relocating it?

Thank you for your request which we received on 15 June 2023, asking for information about bus stops.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked:
(a) Policies and formal evaluation criteria (e.g. templates used to evaluate a cost-to-benefit ratio) on the location and relocation of bus stops This information is available in our bus stop design guidance document available at:https://content.tfl.gov.uk/bus-stop-design-guidance.pdf, which you are already aware of.
(b) Any correspondence, memoranda, evaluations of, or other information pertaining to the location of bus stop Barnes Newport Road (Stop WP)
According to our records, the bus stop at the location of Newport Road; Towards Barnes Bridge, was introduced on 25 December 1966. The first shelter at this location was erected on 12 January 1999 and was upgraded in late 2009/2010. Please find the attached site meeting report from 26 October 2009.
Currently, there has been no requests nor are there any plans by TfL to relocate either the bus stop or the shelter at this location.
Please note that in accordance with TfL’s obligations under Data Protection legislation, all personal data has been removed from the attached site meeting report, as required by section 40(2) of the FOI Act. This is because disclosure of this personal data would be a breach of the legislation, specifically the first principle which requires all processing of personal data to be fair and lawful. It would not be fair to disclose this personal information when the individuals have no expectation it would be disclosed and TfL has not satisfied one of the conditions which would make the processing ‘fair’.This exemption to the right of access to information is an absolute exemption and not subject to an assessment of whether the public interest favours use of the exemption.
