Thank you for your email which we received on 3 July 2022 asking for information about spend on bus companies. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. I can confirm TfL holds some of the information you require. Specifically you asked:
All amounts paid to companies supplying bus services, including all bus operators Please supply the annual amount and to which bus company for the year 2021 and the current year to date.
This is already available on the TfL website using the following link. In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with a copy of the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere.
Please also provide the budgeted amounts to be paid to all bus companies and bus operators for the remainder of 2022 and for 2023, 2024 and 2025.
The budget for 2023/24 and 2024/25 hasn’t been determined yet. There are significant changes planned for the bus network as part of the current funding deal. These are currently subject to consultation and therefore we won’t know the results for some time.
