Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 14 August 2020 asking for information about our New Routemaster Buses (NRMs).
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked: Is the intellectual property of the New Routemaster design royalty free? If yes, can you provide details please.
TfL owns the intellectual property rights to the unique design features of the NRMs. For further details, please see the contracts for the New Bus for London which were published in response to Freedom of Information requests via the following link to our website: https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/contracts-released-under-foi
In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with a copy of the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere.
