Thank you for your further request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 13th June 2023 asking for information about Section S81 Highways fines.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“What is the cost of a Section S81 Highways fine to the apparatus/asset owner and does it change if it is deemed a low or high risk, if so please provide both.”
There are no regulated penalties under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 if an asset owner fails to maintain their apparatus in accordance with s81.
