Hi, I am a postgraduate student of the university of greenwich. Currently i am doing a research on finding possible relationship between popular music and crime rates in london underground transport system. i found crime rates in london underground transport system from 2009-2022 but i also need data from 1969-2009. so i would be highly thankful if you could provide me the data of crime rates in london underground from 1969-2022 and also the number of strikes in london underground on a yearly basis from 1969-2022. Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 28 June 2022 asking for information about crime rates and strike action on London Underground.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.

We do not hold information on crime rates on the Underground prior to 2009.  Transport for London has only existed since 2000. We suggest you contact the British Transport Police who may be able to assist you further with this part of your request.
