TfL Ref: FOI-0751-2324

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 10th June 2023 asking for information about TFL stations names, zones, lines, coordinates and postcodes.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Specifically you asked:

- Station Name
- Postcode
- Fare Zone
- Line(s) Served
- Latitude
- Longitude

Please ensure that the information is provided in an easily parseable format, preferably a CSV file or an XLSX file, to facilitate analysis and usage.

If possible, I kindly request that this information be up-to-date as of the most recent data available at the time of processing this request.”

I am afraid it is not possible to source all of the requested information within the costs limit for responding to FOI cases, as set out under section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act. Under section 12, TfL is not required to provide information if it would cost more than £450 to determine if that information is held, and to then retrieve, locate or extract it from elsewhere. This is calculated at a rate of £25 per hour, equivalent to 18 hours work. In this case the exemption applies because the requested information has not been collated before, and there is no quick or efficient way of doing so. Rather, it woukd require collating information from a number of different sources, on an individual station by station basis. This is not possible within the costs limit. However, that said, the information for you to be able to collate your own table is already available via the following sources:

Station name, fare zone and line served can be found in the “Maps” section of the TfL website here:

https://tfl.gov.uk/maps/track?intcmp=40400

The postcode and latitude / longitude information should be avalable online by searching for the sation name / address via an internet search, and by using an online map application.

Further, note that the following link may be of use, although TfL cannot vouch for its accuracy:

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
