We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-0728-2223
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 25 June 2022, asking for information about the temporary bus and cycle lanes on Balham High Road.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
Since implementing the temporary changes in 2020 we have continued to take on feedback from the public via the online survey on our website and/or by emailing us at [email protected]. Our monitoring and feedback suggests that there have been some favoured temporary changes as well as some with less support. The A24 is a high movement corridor and is a key route for lots of people walking, cycling, using buses. Some of the temporary changes were having a significant effect on bus reliability and network operations and we recognised further temporary changes had to be made. To facilitate this whilst maintaining safety on the highway we made a decision to make further temporary orders in January and March 2022 for Balham High Road whilst a recommendation on the way forward is agreed. We will engage further with the public once a proposed way forward has been agreed.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
