We should like to request hourly traffic counts and speeds on Finchley Road, NW3 7AJ and in the vicinity.
We should like these for:
Finchley Road ant the junction with Hendon Way: northbound and southbound traffic
Hendon Way at the junction with Finchley Road: eastbound and westbound traffic.
Data on collisions and accidents are also, requested, please.

Our ref: FOI-0716-2122/GH Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 10 July 2021 asking for information about traffic counts and collision data. Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require. We do not have any recent traffic count/speed data at the junction of Finchley Road and Hendon Way (the latest available is from 2017). Instead I have attached the traffic count data and speed data from the closest Automatic Traffic Counter (ATC) which is on Finchley Road near the junction of Langland Gardens (Grid: 525896185263). I have provided data for the months of December 2019, January 2020, February 2020, April 2021, May 2021 and June 2021. This is the raw data from the ATCs so please be aware of any gaps in the data when the machine temporarily went offline. The data is not split by mode however there are ‘Class’ columns where Class is defined by vehicle length: Class 1 refers to <5.2m, Class 2 is 5.2m – 12.0m and Class 3 is >12.0m so using these columns will give some indication of the number of HGVs. Collision data is provided to TfL by the police - with regards to collisions at this junction: December 2019-February 2020 There is one personal injury collision recorded which involved slight injury to a motorcyclist who was in collision with a car January 2021 - March 2021 provisional (which is the latest information we have) The data currently received from the police shows no collisions at this location.
