Request ID: FOI-0713-2223 Date published: 11 July 2022
You asked
Please can you release any reports and maps compiled or produced since the opening of the Elizabeth Line that identify how the new Line has changed travel patterns between stations in London? (That are perhaps based on wifi tracking data).
For example, perhaps there is a report illustrating how the Elizabeth Line has changed how customers travel between Paddington and Tottenham Court Road.

Our Ref: FOI-0713-2223
Thank you for your request received on 24 June 2022 asking for information about the impact of the Elizabeth line.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
We do not hold the information you have requested. We are still in the stages of compiling an initial assessment of how the Elizabeth line has changed travel patterns with the data available, such as from other railways, Tube lines and bus routes. This will take the form of identifying where usage has materially changed as a result of the railway opening. Information regarding displacement from other modes, such as cars and cyclists, will take longer given the data constraints (such as requirement for manual surveying).
This initial displacement assessment will be provisional, due to the need to disaggregate impacts of the phased opening, the time needed for demand patterns to ‘settle’ (itself exacerbated by phased opening), and the need to normalise for background demand factors (such as Covid recovery). Therefore a comprehensive evaluation of displacement with more detailed causal analysis is planned, as part of the first evaluation study, (which will focus on the transport network effects).
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
