Thank you for your request received on 23 May 2017 and transferred to us from the GLA on 19 June 2017 asking for information about the accessibility reports for all stations on the Elizabeth line. I note that our External Relations team has also responded to a query raised on your behalf by Councillor Crowder.  I attach that response.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act  and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require.

Network Rail’s detailed planning application has now been submitted under Schedule 7 of the Crossrail Act 2008 to the London Borough of Havering to make significant improvements at Romford station under the Crossrail programme. Plans include step-free access from the ticket hall to platform 5 for TfL Rail services towards Shenfield and a new lift from ticket hall level to platform 3 / 4, for TfL Rail services to Liverpool Street. The new widened northern entrance will also feature tactile paving, automatic sliding doors, improved signage and additional lighting.  You can view more details using the following link: http://development.havering.gov.uk/OcellaWeb/planningDetails?reference=R0004.17&from=planningSearch

Please see the following link for information on the Crossrail Equality Impact Assessment (EqIA) report which shows disability assessments and explain how decisions were made: http://www.crossrail.co.uk/route/inclusive-design

For your information, the attached Crossrail Information paper E5, which dates from 2007 lists the proposed works to be carried out at all Elizabeth line stations to improve accessibility. This includes a new lift at Romford station. Network Rail is responsible for all works at the surface stations including Romford.  For more information on this particular station please contact Network Rail at: https://www.networkrail.co.uk/who-we-are/transparency-and-ethics/freedom-information-foi/

The following Press release from October 2014 supersedes the information contained in the Crossrail Information paper E5 as it confirms that there will be step free access for all Elizabeth line stations:  https://tfl.gov.uk/info-for/media/press-releases/2014/october/step-free-access-for-all-london-crossrail-stations

Please also see a link to the Disabled People’s Protection Policy (DPPP) which is published as part of the granting of the licence.  This only covers stations currently managed by MTR Corporation on behalf of TfL Rail.  Please note that this document will not be updated until completion of the individual projects as it is a live document showing the “as is” situation:  http://www.orr.gov.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0013/23044/review-tfl-rail-dppp.pdf
