Could you tell me how many train operators based in Morden and golders green depot were temporarily assigned alternative duties between April 2021-‘September 2021, how many hours were they working and how long did they stay in those alternative duties.

Our ref: FOI-0700-2324/GH Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 5 June 2023 asking for information about train operators temporarily redeployed. Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require. Could you tell me how many train operators based in Morden and golders green depot were temporarily assigned alternative duties between April 2021-‘September 2021, how many hours were they working and how long did they stay in those alternative duties. When a Train Operator is unable to operate a train they may be assigned ‘temporary alternative duties’. The number of hours worked typically vary from four to six hours a day increasing gradually to full hours. The length of time carrying out the alternative duties vary also from six to 235 days. At Morden there were 32 instances that train operators were temporarily assigned to alternative duties during the specified time period, and five at Golders Green. See below a breakdown of the length of time spent in TAD in each instance. Dates have been removed to protect the anonymity of each individual.
